I don't think that is entirely true. Some people really hate where they grew up for example, or they don't like the snow, or heat, or job outlook etc. Most people though have financial or social ties to a place so they can't just immediately move.
Dislike Birmingham, Alabama, and Montgomery, Alabama.
I do, too hate Montgomery, AL... The city itself feels like the Old South where white people still look down on black people. The downtown area seemed dead... There are no sidewalks at all outside the downtown area.
