Up here we'll get 87% totality which is just enough to darken the sky a tad bit.
Here in Columbia SC, we're getting total for about two and half minutes. We'll be heading out on Lake Murray, with just about everyone who has a boat. I'm thinking crazy as hell. I'm self-employed, so I'll be missing work with a beer in my hand, and Pink Floyd on the stereo. The whole state is pretty excited.
I think I will just observe from my deck in Richland, WA. I thought of driving south, but my instincts tell me to stay put and just observe a 95% totality here in the Tri-Cities.
I am in Greenville and nearby Anderson and Clemson (the college town of Clemson University) are in the path of totality. I believe Clemson is the only major university in the path.
My wife and I are driving 800 miles up to western Idaho for it. Road trip!!
Can't wait! This will be our first total eclipse.
