Its ranked #15 among all states, so while you are correct, its not as friendly as some.

Charleston isn't a huge tech force yet, but its growing swiftly. Charleston has been nicknamed "Silicon Harbor." I don't know anyone who has been dying to leave SC, but apparently people are dying to move here. SC is a fine place to be with 3 main cities that each offer something different. I'm turned off by North Texas, but I wouldn't write it off. More people live in DFW than in SC, so it's bound to offer a lot. Visit DFW if you haven't and see how you feel.
For me, I found the congestion in DFW to be a huge problem. I do like that if you sit south of the airport so you're about an hour or so from Dallas, Fort Worth and Plano, you have a nice taste of everything. Like I've mentioned, I've been to both areas a bunch. SC definitely is a fine city, though I'd prefer Columbia location wise, as literally its central to everything. Unfortunately I'm not overly fond of Columbia.

Open carry bill working it's way through congress. Should pass in when they return early next year. McMaster will sign.

Oh sorry, guess I skipped over you saying you've been to Dallas. What's your issue with Columbia?
