Some people never leave their hometown while others leave and never look back. There's a third group that does leave but for whatever reason they either get nostalgic or get down on their luck and end up moving back to their hometown. For the purposes of this poll, your hometown is wherever you graduated high school, regardless of how many places you lived growing up. I also consider living within two hours of your alma matter living in the same area you grew up in for all intents and purposes.

So which group do you fall into? Where did you grow up and where are you living now? If you stayed in your hometown or you moved back after having moved away, are you happy with that decision or do you want to move? If you left, are you happy with that decision and/or do you ever consider moving back home?

I fall into the third group in that I moved away for about three years and then moved back home primarily due to the Great Recession and pressure from family.

Moved away to San Diego after HS for 9 years, moved back to my hometown in 2010 and still live nearby. I really don't care for the Bay Area but it's not that bad of a place to live. Me and the wife wish we could move back to SD.

I don't believe I fit any any of your designated groups.

I moved away, not necessarily by my choice. Then moved another couple hundred miles from there even. Not that I've neglected to look back. I still recall the areas fondly. One point we were thinking of moving closer but it's such a headache to move and at this point, don't want to start another mortgage. We don't mind where we live.

Not me. I went to college 25 miles away, took a really bad job about four hours away, then hightailed it to a different state ten years ago and haven't looked back since.

I belong in the second group. I grew up in a small town in Ohio and have never lived more than an hour away. Even now I live in Michigan but I'm still only an hour from the town where I grew up. For me, life's just too short to move away from family.

Odd choices. I moved away and don't live within two hours, but I live within three and a half. I didn't leave and "never looked back" as I go back 5-6 times a year and still absolutely love my hometown.

Grew up in Iowa City until age 22, then moved to Chicago where I've lived in the city for 17 years, wouldn't change a thing!

Packed my car, drove away and never looked in the rearview mirror. I moved 1,700 miles away for 10 years then moved 1,400 miles from there. We're looking at a 250 mile move in a few months.

You couldn't pay me enough money to live in NW Ohio again.
