Unless you don't like huge crowds, I'd go with Philly for sure. It isn't even that pricey, all things considered.
Drinking in Philly is so much cheaper than NYC

I remember the going prices for PBRs being 2 dollars, good beers 3 dollars, and mixed drinks 5 dollars. It's way more than that in NYC, with even the cheapest places being more expensive.

We will be enjoying our beautiful beaches with clear water and white sand, not muddy silty river water masquerading as ocean water.

Yeah, I can barely look at ours. Too unspoiled.

Nothing special in your pics sorry. Yes you can set a watch by me as I readily admit I am obsessed with clear water sandy beaches. Can't help myself.

Where did you go?

Louisville is very unique American experience! Very bad weather probably making it quieter than usual on a Labor Day Weekend. Lots of festivals downtown, plenty of bars, and the neighborhoods in Louisville are what makes it shine.

To me, Philly is obviously bigger and more to do, but to me its simply a tiny New York.

Louisville is completely different, still plenty to do and of course, bourbon. Bourbon is king these days.

Philadelphia has a pretty different character than NYC. It's sort of like saying that Louisville is just a different Cincinnati. Sure, there are some similarities and one's metro size is obviously much larger than the other, but they are not just different sized versions of each other.
