Haven't seen this posted, but a new report by Moody's has Austin, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Rochester and Pittsburgh as the top 5 metro picks, based on Amazon's preferences. Philadelphia would move to first and Pittsburgh second if geography was considered as a major factor (distance from Seattle and being in/near the Northeast Corridor).

Doubtful since it falls short in the transit category in a big way. I consider Nashville a dark horse.
I agree its definitely a Wild Card and like you said, for Transit reasons!! I could really see it Leaning more towards Atlanta or Boston right now, but what do I know..., depending if they want to go Northeast or the South... I can tell you, I in no way see this being on the West coast, makes no sense period, or even anywhere in the center of the country like say Denver. Denver is a great City but the location of having a 2nd headquarters just doesn't make much sense to me. Texas, say Austin, kinda the same view. For some reason though I keep seeing a Nashville as a Surprise factor for everyone if that happened, but I can be honest with you, If it did come into play, I wouldn't be surprised a bit! It would definitely turn some heads as to why..

Incentives since Nashville is kind of like a "jack of all (most really) trades, master of none" when it comes to Amazon's requirements. That would be true for several other cities that I consider dark horses.
Now the Mayor of Nashville releases this breaking news Today for 5.2 Billion Dollar project for Light rail and Massive Tunnel,, and this week of all weeks, Hmmmm....

I would really question Philly given it's well-documented unfriendliness to corporations, as well as it's payroll taxation rate which is among the highest in the country. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is very in tune to employee needs, and wouldn't think he would find the current situation friendly nor feasible.

True, but if Amazon expressed the least bit of interest in Philly as a finalist, you'd better believe state and local officials would be tripping over themselves to make the necessary changes to land HQ2.

Yea, that's a huge one out of left field. Quality of life and cost seem to be the main driving factors for that ranking, as Rochester is the smallest metro on that list and has weak public transportation options.
