Three hours ago in Denver it was 96, but the heat index was 91. Fast-forward to now and it's already cooled off into the mid-70s. Will be about 55 at sunrise. Windows are open and the AC is off.

That’s brutal. I know Denver gets pretty toasty in the summer, as I’ve visited friends there before, but this seems early in the year for that, it’s not even summer yet.

Yeah it's really early. We had an abnormally dry winter. Conditions are nearly identical to 2012. We had several large wildfires that year.
For the record, measurable snow in June in Colorado Springs is exceedingly rare. In fact, over the last 70 years it's happened a grand total of twice. The last time was 43 years ago today (6/10/1975). The city got 1.1" of snow on that day. Two days later it was 77 degrees.
I guess that was when I was there! Yeah - too wide a swing for my preferences. And just outside of Colorado Springs where we were camping it was about 4 inches of snow. No thanks.
People who are grownups and start to romanticize and miss "back home" who left, may be mentally regressed. Not stupid but misdirected. Gets sucked in easily to something that really wont be as good as it seems just because of your childhood memories.
As I get older, lower cost of living and warm weather will interest me. I am in NH currently but have a 3-5 yr window maybe until I can embark on a move to the SW, to Arizona.
Just got in from working in the yard and it feels GREAT outside. Great to me anyway, because I love summer mornings and working in the fresh, green yard in the dappled sunlight.
The next four days we have a good chance of thunderstorms in the afternoons, with highs in the 80s if it remains overcast for much of the day. That's a cool spell for us this time of year but hey, I'll take it! I hope we get our typical big, blustery thunderstorms - I love those and really missed them when I lived elsewhere.
8 pm. 95 degree heat index in Chandler. I can't wait for summer.
Hey, I was out in this yesterday - actually earlier (6 ish) when it was even hotter. I was attending a BBQ and we had big tents and lots of shade and it felt great outside! Several of the people I was chatting with were talking about how they enjoy this level of heat - we weren't even breaking a sweat.
I have a nice tan and have lost weight this year, so I am enjoying wearing lots of summery clothes and sandals and showing some skin. I've really been enjoying water aerobics outside this summer too. It's my favorite workout! Can't wait to build that pool in our backyard - that's our project this winter - because as you know, we won't have to deal with snow and ice so the pool company can put the pool in this winter or early spring and it should be ready for us to jump into in April - sooner than that if we spring for the heater.
