El Paso does have a zoo, and while it may seem like the El Paso area has no amusement park (it's indoor entertainment center hasn't even had its kiddie coaster since 2011), Sunland Park just across the state line in New Mexico does have Western Playland so El Paso does have an amusement park close by despite there being no amusement park in the city itself.

The only amusement park with roller coasters in the eastern half of North Carolina is a kiddie park called "Deadwood", meaning the next closest parks that do have thrilling roller coasters are Carowinds farther west, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens in Virginia, and Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach.

Houston has multiple aquariums, though none of them are massive like Corpus Christi's Texas State Aquarium (3 hours from Houston), one of the largest aquariums in the country.

Although an amusement park does exist about an hour away in Idaho.
Despite it not being a city zoo, an independent zoo "Cat Tales" is just north of the city.

It's Kennywood Park, the National Aviary, the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Sandcastle Waterpark, DelGrosso's Park and Lakemont Park. And those last two are located in Altoona, not Pittsburgh. If you're going to include more distant attractions, then Idlewild Park is 45 miles east of Pittsburgh, but still located in the Pittsburgh MSA.

While Ohio has two of Cedar Fair's best parks (Cedar Point and Kings Island), Southeast Ohio has no amusement parks at all (not even kiddie and family parks like Northeast Ohio does) so their nearest options for smaller parks are Jungle Jack's Landing (inside Columbus Zoo) and Camden Park (just across the river in West Virginia) which are 3 hours apart from each-other. Kennywood's also not as far from places east of Interstate 77.

While Omaha is known for having a legendary zoo, it's only amusement parks are Fun Plex which while it has a big water park section, it got rid of it's more thrilling coaster in 2017 and now only has a kiddie coaster, and an indoor entertainment center called SkateDaze that has a Miner Mike kiddie coaster. Omaha is nearly 3 hours away from Adventureland Park in Des Moines and World of Fun in Kansas City, but mid-Nebraksa is more than that away from both of those parks and Elitch Gardens in Denver.

Rapid City has the famous Mount Rushmore but it has no amusement parks and it's even over 5 hours from all of the amusement parks South Dakota does have. Rapid City does have a carousel in its mall, a mountain coaster, Reptile Gardens, and an indoor water park resort hotel (Watiki).
