I'd offer up the idea of New Orleans as well, particuarly for education with Loyola New Orleans, Tulane University and the University of New Orleans all close, along with a HUGE amount of law firms, even if you got into school you might could land a part time job here.
But then again I love New Orleans to not promote it.

Also, if cost of living is important those cities are all very expensive, Chicago is probably the least.
l've just realised your message, sorry about that. And thank you for your answer.

The North Eastern cities are in trouble, the West Coast is in trouble, and Texas is doing great. If you move to a city, you'll be fine. Avoid New York, Los Angeles, Boston, etc. Try Dallas/Ft. Worth or Houston. I live in Los Angeles and I can tell you that California is close to bankruptcy, Los Angeles county and city are close to bankruptcy, and the people are rude snobs. The financially depressed areas are that way because they tax individuals and corporations so much that they're moving out of those areas in droves. Where the money goes, the prosperity and jobs go. Go where the prosperity is. Texas is untouched by the recession and is actually benefitting from it. Try Texas.
