This stuff about farts, boogers, etc, seems to know no regional boundaries. I know many men who think this stuff is hilarious, and they are all from different parts of the country.

Farts can be funny, in moderation. It gets old.

I don't get it either. I think it has something to do with phallic imagery.

I think it's somewhat sad if you're a grown man and still think farts and boogers are hilarious.

Ron White is pretty funny, and I like Bill Engvall and Jeff Foxworthy quite a bit.
Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Larry The Cable Guy is just well...simple. He says he doesn't like his act to be too dirty just more like a 14 year old bathroom humor stuff.
He did live in the South and went to college in Georgia. He may not be a native Southerner but he certainly had a country upbringing in Nebraska.
In a way that Southerners might be in their own box, people from outside are in theirs too. You kind of just have to get the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

I agree that humor in the south is great. I think a lot of it comes from the honesty of southerners; if something most would consider embarrassing happens to them, they have no qualms telling everyone they know, usually with embellishment. All I can think of is the movie 'Steel Magnolias;' the women in that film are perfect examples of southern humor. I am reminded of my grandmother from Alabama who would say absolutely anything on her mind, which was never rude but ALWAYS hilarious.

Canadian humor..hmmm.......Yucks from Canucks........Dan Ayckroyd, Dave thomas, Rick Moranis and a bunch of the Second City people, come to mind. Mike Myers, and several of the SNL people; David steinberg, and I think Norm McDonald, John Candy, Martin Short.......some pretty funny people. I think they have American influence and also british and french.

I think the people around here have stories that lead to an abrupt climax in their jokes... It maybe Southern... I don't really know... My Father from Michigan had a crude sense of Humor ... it was either not Funny, or Hilarious...
nothing in between... People here have jokes like this...
like:
A guy was seated next to a 10-year-old girl on an airplane. Being bored, he turned to the girl and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."
The girl, who was reading a book, closed it slowly and said to the guy, "What would you like to talk about?"
Oh, I don't know," said the guy. "How about nuclear power?"
"OK," she said. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow and a deer all eat the same stuff... grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"
The guy thought about it and said, "Hmmm, I have no idea."
To which the girl replied, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know sh*t?"
