That would. E similar to Charlestown in Boston where Main Street is still Charlestown Main Street.

I didn't even think of that! I guess it does count in that case, in which case it's a great example of a Main Street that's not the main street.

Main Street, Hershey PA 17033, is actually in a nearby village called Union Deposit that lost its post office years ago. Folks who turn their GPS to Main St in Hershey looking for https://www.pinterest.com/pin/528258231266743392/ are disappointed. (That street is called Chocolate Avenue.)

Phoenix is one. We have a side street called Main St on the northeast side of the city, near the Scottsdale border. Our main north-south St is Central Avenue, and our main east-west St is Washington St (which I happen to live on now)

I grew up in Auburn, MA Main street in Auburn had a factory that burned down, then the street became a dead end.

SaMo Blvd. is definitely a runner-up.
What about Figueroa St?

Main Street in Pittsburgh is a pretty minor secondary road that connects the neighborhoods of Bloomfield and Lawrenceville. The Lawrenceville section is entirely residential (and pretty expensive these days). The section in Bloomfield is a mixed residential/commercial area, with a coffeeshop/gallery, dive bar (now being renovated), skatewear shop, barbershop, ice cream parlor, Japanese restaurant, and a few other things, but it's much less developed than nearby Liberty Avenue or Penn Avenue.

Also I would like to know if it's due to Annexation (like Pittsburgh and Boston) or the city center migrated from its original Main Street like Las Vegas.

Also Providence has a Main Street that isn't Main Street on the east side of the Providence River when Broadway or Westminster is probably "Main Street". This is due to the original settlement being on College Hill but the city growing on the flats between College Federal and Smith Hills

Evanston, IL has a Main St. (as well as a Central St. on the northwest side) that is not part of downtown/central district. But the city being exceptionally urban for a suburb(and probably some core cities), its Main St. still has commercial and even a few high rises. Honestly, it would the "downtown" in other suburbs.
