I love love love Kinokuniya, I wish there were more locations in the US. It does sound like Chicago would be the city for you. (It even has Kinokuniya )

I'm assuming you're talking about Portland, OR.... Their housing market and traffic isn't going to be that much of an improvement from Seattle.

Cold and grey skies are horrible. You been in the PNW too long. Come back to the real world where it doesn't get dark at 4:30pm, where you can party past 2pm, where you will not miss concert tours, where its cheaper, where you are closer to more important cities, etc
