New Mexico felt very culturally different to me. I'm not sure that it's ranked first or not, but I thought that I'd mention it.

New Mexico,Lousiana and Texas seem culturally differet from the rest of the country to me.Hawaii and Alaska too.

New Mexico would be near or at the top of the list. Cultural differences have faded just in our lifetime in many parts of the country which makes those with continued differences stand out more.

Alaska. There are still people living in fishing villages with no roads leading to and from them. Oh, and while some of them still speaking Russian.
