The median household income for U.S.-born Cuban Americans is $57,000, higher than the overall U.S. median household income of $52,000.

Areas with a military presence may work in this regard or at least in parts of such areas.

Many if not most Cuban Americans are descendants of middle and upper class families who fled Cuba just prior to or during the Revolution of 1959. They brought their considerable wealth to the US with them.

I would say South Florida many people are suprised when I tell them that the Cuban community for the most part are middle and upper class income people. With their owned established Ares. It's not like in SoCal where hispanic corresponds with poverty.

It's not the places you'd think it would be. According to the stats I pulled, places with fewer Latinos seem to be better for Latinos, at least income-wise.

This is when excluding metros with less than 30,000 households total (this is median household income):

Bluefield, WV
-Latino income: $59,107
-White income: $38,339

Concord, NH
-Latino income: $85,637
-White income: $67,255

Quincy, IL-MO
-Latino income: $63,364
-White income: $48,609

Charleston, WV
-Latino income: $60,104
-White income: $46,007

Roanoke Rapids, NC
-Latino income: $54,716
-White income: $44,622

Among places with an above average amount of Latinos:

Emporia, KS
-Latino income: $43,673
-White income: $41,250

Espanola, NM
-Latino income: $34,674
-White income: $32,944

Vernon, TX
-Latino income: $47,917
-White income: $47,732

In the following places, Latinos have the smallest deficit (the above 3 are the only three where they outearn Whites, and also have an above average percentage of the population).

Andrews, TX
-Latino income: $69,591
-White income: $69,743

Okeechobee, FL
-Latino income: $36,023
-White income: $36,658

Let's look at the presumed suspects:

Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL
-Latino income: $43,788
-White income: $62,604

Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA
-Latino income: $48,630
-White income: $80,848

Not even close.

Riverside-San Bernardino, CA (not too bad)
-Latino income: $50,216
-White income: $62,565

San Diego is pretty awful ($50 to $76), as is Houston ($46 to $82).

Bridgeport, CT has an almost $53K difference. San Jose is $46K.

I'll keep these if there are any questions.

Damn, this is just sad to be honest. But I do know a lot of middle class Ecuadorians and Peruvians from New Jersey and Long Island. And to be fair, a huge chunk of the Latino population is recent immigrants, while most white Americans are several generations removed from any other country.
