What are some underrated food cities in the USA? Aside from the usual NYC/LA/Chicago/SF. There's good individual restaurants everywhere, but in terms of food culture of a city.

I'm nominating Houston here. The combination of all the immigrant cultures WITH the Cajun/Creole along with the Texas BBQ. Totally underrated.

I’ll throw Louisville into the mix.

It’s starting to get some “looks” with recent tv shows and such, but it’s still very underrated overall. A great mix of everything you can think of.

DC has come a long way and is on top-tier status now with NYC, LA, SF and Chicago which many don't realize if they haven't visited in awhile.

On a smaller scale but nonetheless impressive is Asheville. It's fairly mind-blowing the variety/quality for a city of 80K.

Baltimore. The crab cake has to be one of the greatest creations in human history.

Charleston, SC has a great dining scene. But for those who are familiar with the city, it is not really a secret.
