Hello everyone!

I'm hoping to move in the next few years. I have some very specific ideas about what I want, but no idea where to find it in the US. Any help would be appreciated!

The main issue is that I want at least 7-10 acres of good horse pasture (NOT high desert), but I also want to be within sight of mountains and within a couple hours of eventing competitions. I know the eventing world is centered in the southeast US, but I just can't stand that much humidity or the scorching hot summers (heavy winters are fine though). On top of that, I need to be within half an hour of a city with 30K+ population, both for work and because I'd like to have a small horse boarding operation. My budget is around 300K, although I could push it for the perfect place. I'm in love with the horse properties around Lexington, but I currently live in Colorado Springs and I just don't want to give up the mountains if I can help it.

To summarize:
- 10+ acres good horse pasture available for around 300K
- within sight of mountains
- no high humidity or extremely hot summers
- near at least a mid-sized city

At the moment I'm looking into Spokane, WA and Kalispell, MT, but the pickings are slim so I'd love to hear any other suggestions. Thank you!!

Have you given the area around, The Big South Fork National Recreation Area a look? Located in Kentucky and Tennessee right in the mountains.

South front range has events & mountains but presumably not the pasture & prices? Only other spots I could find with mountains & events and maybe the rest would be north Shenandoah valley or outside Flagstaff in a high valley.

Lexington KY would be too expensive unless you went probably 50 miles out. Could get into eastern KY hills maybe above Berea but it is hills not big mountains, not even VA mountains.
