The mergers of Disney and Fox have been approved as well as the merger for AT&T and Time Warner (although the Justice Department is expected to appeal the decision; very strong indicators point towards them failing to split the company).

Disney now controls 43% of the film and entertainment industry's marketshare with the acquisition of Fox. It is now on the verge of becoming the sole hegemon of the entertainment industry. AT&T is now the sole proprietor and completely owns Time Warner and all divisions under Time Warner such as TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network, DC Universe Comics, Turner Broadcast Studios and all other assets, subsidiaries, and divisions. In addition to that, AT&T now controls 21% of the entertainment industry's marketshare.

Finally, the Army's new Futures Command Headquarters, which is meant to be their high-tech arm, scouted over 150 cities initially. They then cut that list down to 30 cities, then again cut that list down to 15, then again to 5, and have now announced Austin as the location of their new headquarters.

Regarding moving BLM, Zinke still has to get congressional approval - no way Dems will let that happen, some Senators have already said they're not on board. Republicans and their obsession with wanting to move certain agencies out of DC always cracks me up because they fail every time.

Lets hope so, the DMV needs to keep everything it has and then further add to it.

Huge news as of Friday as two Fortune 500 companies made their relocation to new homes official on the same day. A third Fortune 500 company (Norfolk Southern) has also made their headquarters relocation official since the last time this thread was updated.

01. McKesson (a Fortune 100) has announced in a press release that it is relocating its global corporate headquarters from the Greater San Francisco Bay Area to the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex:

https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...rs-Las-Colinas

02. Honeywell, which is yet another Fortune 100 company, has announced in a press release that it is relocating its corporate headquarters from Greater New York (northern New Jersey) to Greater Charlotte:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKCN1NZ213

03. Cadillac has announced that it is relocating its corporate headquarters from Greater New York back to Greater Detroit:

https://www.freep.com/story/money/ca...it/1434144002/

04. Resideo, a brand new tech company formed by spinning off from Honeywell will be locating its corporate headquarters in Greater Austin:

https://www.statesman.com/news/20181...tin-for-its-hq

05. Advanced Auto Parts has announced that it will be moving its corporate headquarters from the Roanoke, Virginia metropolitan area to the Greater Raleigh/Durham metropolitan area:

https://www.newsobserver.com/news/bu...222280460.html

06. AgJunction has announced that it will be relocating its corporate headquarters from the Hiawatha, Kansas metropolitan area to the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area (Scottsdale):

https://globenewswire.com/news-relea...dquarters.html

07. Mimeo.com has announced that it will be relocating its corporate headquarters from Greater New York to Greater Memphis:

https://www.commercialappeal.com/sto...am/2054398002/

08. Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises has announced that it will be relocating its corporate headquarters from Greater Charlotte to Greater Cleveland (Akron):

https://www.charlotteobserver.com/ne...218956340.html

09. NuLife Sciences has announced that it will be relocating its corporate headquarters from Greater Los Angeles (Orange County) to the Lafayette, Louisiana metropolitan area:

https://www.securitysales.com/busine...ate-louisiana/

10. Okin BPS has announced that it will be creating a North American headquarters and placing it in Greater San Antonio:

https://www.expressnews.com/business...r-13327891.php

11. Framatone has announced that it will be relocating its North American headquarters from Greater Charlotte to the Lynchburg, Virginia metropolitan area:

Framatome to relocate North American headquarters to Lynchburg Industries | Virginia Business

Honeywell looked into Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, and Phoenix before deciding on Charlotte to call home. They state that the location will be beneficial for them moving forward as it is near much of their operation bases. This is a big catch for Charlotte, this is the first Fortune 500 company that the Greater Charlotte metropolitan area has landed since 2014. Honeywell is firmly a Fortune 100 company with immense operations and a massive global footprint.

McKesson is the San Francisco Bay Area's and California's #2 company on the Fortune 500 list (coming in #6), behind Apple, and they are a giant in the pharmaceutical industry, actually the largest players in that industry. More importantly they are the second Fortune 500 company to relocate their headquarters from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in 3 months (September-November), the other being Core-Mark.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As was mentioned and reported earlier on in this thread, all three of Norfolk Southern, Wyndham, and PGA of America have made it official that their corporate headquarters relocations are happening either directly or through a medium. Norfolk Southern announced that with the sale of their land and property at the Gulch site in Atlanta that they will be moving their corporate headquarters from the Norfolk-Virginia Beach metropolitan area to Greater Atlanta (in Midtown). PGA of America has now made it official that they will be moving their headquarters from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In addition they will be building two new 18 hole golf courses next to their new headquarters. This segment is separated from the top segment since all of these are corporate headquarters news that were reported on earlier in this thread prior to becoming official more recently.

01. Norfolk Southern (a Fortune 500 company) officially announces the relocation of their corporate headquarters from the Greater Norfolk-Virginia Beach metropolitan area to Greater Atlanta:

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...-downtown.html

02. PGA of America officially announces the relocation of their corporate headquarters from the Greater Miami/Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area to the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex:

https://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/2...florida-texas/

03. Wyndham Destinations Inc. has announced that it has chosen the Greater Orlando region as the home of its corporate headquarters after successfully spinning off from Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc.:

https://www.traveldailynews.com/post...m-destinations

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally the "rumored" corporate headquarters relocations segment (separated because it isn't official yet, unlike all of the above).

01. Fredy's Inc. appears to be weighing its options with regard to a potential relocation of its corporate headquarters from Greater Memphis to the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex:

With the addition of McKesson Corp., that gives the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex 3 companies in Fortune 500's Top 10: ExxonMobil (#2), McKesson (#6), and AT&T (#9).

http://fortune.com/fortune500/

The Metroplex appears to be on a serious tear lately. Not only is it a prime beneficiary of the major corporate headquarter relocations but it gets its name into the mix for seemingly every company looking into moving. That comes in addition to being one of the only 3 metropolitan areas in the United States that is still creating over + 100,000 jobs year-over-year. It comes in second behind its sister city Houston and right ahead of megacity New York.

Job growth by MSA, year-over-year (October 2017-October 2018) in raw numbers:
1. Houston MSA: + 117,800
2. Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex MSA: + 109,000
3. New York MSA: + 108,500

Job growth by MSA, year-over-year (October 2017-October 2018) in percentage terms:
1. Houston MSA: + 3.9%
2. Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex MSA: + 3.0%
3. New York MSA: + 1.1%

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/metro.t03.htm

Richard Florida recently did a great piece on this very subject over on CityLab: https://www.citylab.com/life/2018/11...on-hq2/575833/

I recommend the read to all of those whom have an interest in business, corporate, or economic topics. The statistics he compiled were done by MSA. It tracks the migration of America's corporate base.

The Popeyes move is interesting. It seems rare that Atlanta loses the HQ of a US-based company to Miami but I could be mistaken.
