Default Chicago's Boystown

As a resident of Chicago's Boystown, I have to say that it is a wonderful place for gay people to live. The city at large, and even the greater Chicagoland area, is wonderful and they gay community, Boystown - located in Lakeview by Wrigley Field, is safe, clean and cultured.

I LOVED living in Boystown! IMHO, there wasn't a safer place for a straight single gal to live in Chicago than that neighborhood.

Flint, MI? Not so much...but certainly Ann Arbor is a fantastic spot for LGBT folks, and East Lansing and Ferndale are other good places to live, while Sagautuk is a great vacation place.

Default I live in the Castro District

I have lived in The Castro in San Francisco for over 20 years.
This is ground zero.
I also have a home in the historical district of Boise, Idaho which I
rent out. Another poster mentioned that Idaho would be a bad place
to live if you're gay. I know the laws pertaining to that are behind the
times there but the people are very accepting. Boise has several clubs
and one in particular called "The Balcony" has a big balcony overlooking
downtown Boise. It's a fun city to get-a-way to once in awhile and it
would be a nice place to live, as well.
San Francisco is the best place if you can afford it.

The "best place for" threads are tiring. Everyplace has neighborhoods that are appropriate for what we are looking for. There are many gay folks that don't want to live in a Boystown for example. Maybe a more appropriate thread would be, "If you were gay, where would you definitely not live" and people can respond to that. For example, if I was gay, I don't think I would want to live in Iraq.
