I suppose states like Washington, Oregon, California, and Colorado could all be contenders. Though I think lesser known states such as Montana are definitely right up there as well.
I would say South Carolina, and other warm weather sunny beach states. The football gameday tailgating atmospheres at Clemson and UofSC add to the coolness. There are so many young people from other parts of the country at colleges in SC so I guess the state is seen as cool.

Uhhhh, just no. Cool and South Carolina do not go together. Now, I like South Carolina a lot, but “cool†is not the first word that comes to mind.

Uh no. One of the least cool states. Please stop. You're not even the coolest USC.

Ok, so why do you get to define cool for everybody? It is weird that you are asking me to stop expressing an opinion that you don't have. Can you explain why a state that you think is more cool than SC is more cool?
What makes the USC in California more cool than the one in SC? Did you attend either college?
WHy do so many people move to SC if it isn't cool? Why do so many people from outside the south go to college in SC if it isn't cool? Why would young people choose to spend 4 years of their youth in a non-cool place?
I know firsthand that young people love SC's major metros, Charleston, Greenville, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head.

I assume the guy saying SC isn’t “cool”, he is meaning it isn’t as talked about and hyped up like some states, such as the usal California, New York, Washington, etc... Or he’s just a jerk, could be either.
Personally I love SC, Hilton Head & Greenville are two of my favorite places I’ve ever been in the US.
