Should I buy a home? (not sure if I'm all that ready do to that). The idea of moving towards the mojave desert and never seeing a snowflake again sounds amazing.

What do I do? Who wants to be my life coach?

"Out West", $1500 for a 1-br. apt. is a good deal! There would be dozens of people competing with you for that apartment! If you want to move out West, you'll have to come up with more money. Or move to Ventura, maybe, or the North Coast of CA (rainy, but lots of redwood forests).

Good luck, OP. IDK, you could look at Vancouver, WA, or small towns on the coast, north of the Bay Area.

IOW, you do not have the freedom to live anywhere in the US. For that, you need serious money. Sorry to break it to you.

Why are we reommending OP cities? If they only need strong internet, I'd recommend some rural place where you can buy a large house dirt cheap. Internet... I'm sure there are rural places with great internet.
