What's so bad about Iowa, have you ever been there.
I, personally, am very fond of the state. The state is associated with a work-ethic that no other state can match. The state, believe it or not, is quite hilly in the east, Clinton, Dubuque, Decorah, etc.,
Des Moines has a lot to offer for such a small sized city. Des Moines does not even have 200,000 residents, and it has the amount of amenities a city of 400-500 thousand would. It also has a very impressive skyline, and I think it is the insurance capital of the Midwest.. I have gone there several times for business, and never have I had a bad experience, the Des Moines/Ames area is very, very flat, though.
Iowa is a relatively friendly state, as well. I have many friends that live in Dubuque, Jackson, and Clinton Counties, all of which I would recommend a visit to.
In my opinion, Iowa is just Illinois, without Chicago.
(is anyone not going to say their home state?/useless thread, will probably get shut down)
Are you kidding? Not everyone loves their home state. I was born in Maryland and have zero allegiance to that place. It's far, really far, from the worst, but I didn't like it. Now I live in California, a great state. But, I chose Hawaii. And, like you, I feel no explanation is necessary for that choice. By the way, I like your state, too.
The worst years of my life were spent there. And, oh, the ear infections I got when I visited my grandmother there! That was before I was forced to live there. Ouch. It hurts to think of the place. Oh, my poor head. My eyes are gonna pop out!
