I don't think Chicago would be what he is looking for. He listed no NY, LA, or Vegas, and I think Chicago would fall into that category. He explicitly stated that he wanted a quieter place with a slower pace of life. Thing is he didn't state how slow he wanted.

Maybe one of the upstate NY cities like Rochester or Buffalo?

Unfortunately, I live in a town of 400. Basically all there is to do is watch TV, eat, work, and sleep. But it's quiet enough.
