Don't hold your breath on that one! LOL. I agree we're more likely to have a Republican president, especially if Hillary runs... I like the woman, but realize she has little chance of winning! So I'll just pray it's a "liberal Republican", like Guiliani or possibly McCain. Then maybe we can win a few battles, like - GASP - letting two people in love get married.

I've often considered moving to Vancouver, for a number of reasons. Not that I hate the U.S. or anything, but they do some things better up there! And I like your idea about finding a Canadian guy to marry... those hockey players are pretty hot, LOL. Although, I'm actually "part Canadian" (via Eastern Europe), since my late grandmother was born & raised in Montreal. I'm not sure if that counts toward citizenship, but I'd be pleasing any racists by going back where I came from.

I think it's an ounce, but I'd have to go research that... and I also think it's only in the city of Denver, which is still some progress!

Edit: I found a few articles on that, and it is an ounce in Denver...

In San Francisco when everyone was signing up and what a coincidence they busted them. Plus now they even know all your friends who didn't sign up. If you are a smart pot smoker you should have seen it coming.
Yes, you are taking a chance by signing up. But let's put it this way... would you rather be discovered to have a medical marijuana card, or be arrested for cultivating a drug illegally?? As someone in the educational field, I just can't take the chance of having a criminal record. They can't fire me based on having the prescription, since we sign a HIPPA form with both employers & the marijuana programs... they're not legally allowed to ask why I have the card (as I could have AIDS or cancer, which isn't necessary to disclose), so there's not much they could do about it.

Anyway, my particular employers only mandate that you can't be high/drunk at work, and don't really care about your at-home activities... but they do care if you get arrested for a criminal act, which can't happen by simply patronizing a marijuana dispensary - they almost always go after the clubs, not the users. I've been a card holder for over 2 years, and haven't been harrassed or even noticed by the government. They have much bigger fish to fry!

Legalize the weed. Not because I smoke it, but because the war on drugs is the stupidest thing our country is involved in.

As for gay marriage...bah. Why does a straight couple have to go to the state to get married?

Cool with me. I think the more laws we create for people, the less rights we get. The war on drugs is so stupid, and such a huge waste of money. Why lock up addicts when we see that rehabilitation is a better cure?

Denver city limits. Once ounce or less is unpunishable by law.
Still illegal in the rest of the state.

Default Hawaii; legal with permit

I have a friend here (cancer survivor) that grows her own with a Hawaii state issued, doctor approved permit, no more than 7 plants at any time.

Default Santa Cruz, California is "legal"

Just a quick note -- Santa Cruz, California, just....in November....passed an ordinance that says that marijuana is to be considered the LOWEST priority for police -- essentially making it legal. Here is a little blurb about it:

Quote:
Ending marijuana prohibition in California: In November 2006, residents of Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and Santa Monica voted to make marijuana offenses the lowest law enforcement priority in all three cities. The Santa Cruz measure also urges the California and federal governments to tax and regulate marijuana similarly to alcohol. In 2004, Oakland voters enacted a similar proposal, and the West Hollywood City Council and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors also de-prioritized marijuana offenses last year. MPP hopes that the successful passage of these six measures will lead to the introduction of legislation in Sacramento to tax and regulate marijuana statewide. Visit www.taxandregulate.org for details.
I don't even use it, but many people do, and I know this area has worked hard to get these initiatives passed. You might check the whole site for more info and other states:
