Where is marijuana legal?
Ok, bad heading I know. But here's the deal. My dad has chronic pain and that's how he deals with it. I am just so worried about him, he doesn't drive while under the influence, he's responsible, he's just in pain all the time and the other pain meds make him sick to his stomach. So, my question is:
Where in this country is marijuana not treated like a crime? I've heard of places that treat it as a traffic offense, so those areas may work. But please help!!!
Thanks!

I think Oregon
treats it as a traffic offense and just gives you a ticket (as long as you don't have a huge amount), but that's the only state I know of.

Has he talked to his doctor about it? There is a pill that is derived from marijuana that can be legally prescribed, but I think it is generally prescribed to stimulate the appetite. He could also try pain medication in patch form.
If I were in a lot of pain, and it was the only thing that worked, I would smoke it, legal or not. I would grow my own. No one's going to bust into your house and search it for the little bit you'd have on you. Your biggest risk is buying it. If you talk to the right people, you can have it delivered directly to your home. No, I can't say who, I have no idea! But I had a friend who had it delivered, in a rural area no less; it was just easier than having to pick it up. If you are near Trenton, NJ I can tell you what streets to drive down to make a purchase. I have to drive all about Trenton daily, and when I turn down certain side roads, I am always approached.
I hope your dad feels better soon.

Careful if you go to North Dakota..my biological father lives there...he's nutso!
Personally, if it were my dad ( I mean my stepdad whom I greatly love), I'd grow the darn stuff myself for him if that was the only way to supply him something that really offered him comfort. I don't smoke period, and I'm not interested in marijuana one bit, but I know people in pain swear by it as a reliever of chronic pain and that's good enough for me. I'd be packing his Christmas stocking with hundreds of bulging joints and just not advertising it.

I know Montel Williams smokes it for his health problems, how he gets by with advertising he uses it, and gets by with it I don't know.
I am sure everybody has heard of the Montel Williams Show. I hope you get a some answers, I know I have pain like your dad, mine fibromyaliga and the start of RH, so I know how he feels, I don't smoke it myself, but some days, it would be nice to get away from the pain for a while. Good luck!!!

Howcome no one mentioned Amsterdam? I believe in Alaska you can grow a couple MJ plants without going to jail. CA will give you a big fine for smoking MJ but no jail if you dont get greedy and sell it! Many places in Canada consider MJ almost legal. Hope this helps
