Italian Americans seem to be more anti immigrant than many other ethnic groups that have been in the US for a long time. They don't seem to like people that speak foreign languages, have different food tastes, don't quickly assimilate, work manual labor jobs, and bring gangs to the US. Seems odd to me as by their rules, they would not be here today as none of their ancestors would have been allowed in.

This often happens with groups that experienced those prejudices when they first came to the USA. Go back 100 years, and Italians were not considered "white people" in the USA. Where I come from, in NJ, Italian immigrants lived in the "Italian and Negro section" of Paterson. My grandfather warned my mother to stay away from Italian men because they were dirty and they all have sex with their daughters. (This was in the 1940s.)
If you ever read the book The Virginianian, written at the turn of the 20th century about the West, there's a character everyone eyes with suspicion who is always explaining, "I'm Italian, but I've been white for a hundred years."
Have you ever seen the movie Easy Rider? There's a scene in the diner and at least one of the "good old boys" looks like he could be of Southern Italian heritage. It takes place in the deep South. And at least one of the girls in that scene had an Italian surname in the credits (Grezzafi).

More than other Americans? I think not if you study other ethnicities. I have Hispanic friends who voted for Trump. Actually, the Italian Americans I know actually lean left. I have some Jewish friends I grew up with that now have a lot of prejudices. Very surprising and disappointing. They were working class Bronx kids. Anyway, in my diverse universe I've heard it all from all!
