Where are you all finding this data? I can't seem to find anything for Maryland.

And speaking of Maryland, everyone knows that Baltimore will have the largest number of blacks of any city in the state. But beyond that, we run into the issue that some Maryland cities are incorporated, but others aren't. Are we counting Census Designated Places in these figures? At least in the case of Maryland, it will make a difference. Of the state's 10-largest places, only 4 of them are incorporated cities.

I use the American Fact finder website. It will give county, and incorporated community info. It does not give estimates for CDP's or Townships. I assume that will make it more tricky for Maryland.

Personally, I would count CDP’s due to what you mentioned about MD and that goes for other some other states as well.

Then, there’s the aspect of towns(hips). For instance, if I used town populations for NY State, the town of Hempstead on Long Island would be second with 132000 residents. So, it can be tricky depending on what you use.

BTW-I was able to pull up Waldorf(CDP) information on American FactFinder(about 41,000). So, you can get information for CDP’s too.

Is that official census or annual estimates as well? I could not find annual information on anything other than incorporated places.

It was 2016 info. If you enter a place that you know is a CDP, enter the name with CDP behind it and then the state in the entry space.
