I just mentioned in another thread, but I feel like when I try to think of the 3rd most famous bridge I still canít get out of NY or SF:

George Washington, Manhattan, Oakland Bay, Queensboro, and maybe the Verrazano are the next oness that I think of, leaning towards GW as my answer if I had to choose one.

I wonder what really is the most recognizable bridge outside of NY/SF?

The Sunshine Skyway is frequently featured as a backdrop in movies and commercials, I'd say easily the most recognizable bridge in FL...

If you're from out of city and you can't name the bridge - they aren't famous. So for me there are only 2 famous bridges - Golden Gate and Brooklyn

Actually I guess Ponchartrain too.

I would say the Zakim bridge, seeing it in person is a lot more impressive than any pic could ever show, but I don't think a lot of people in the US are familiar with it.

Lots of good answers here, but I'll throw in the answer to another question: what is the most important bridge in America? I'll give my guess: the Bay Bridge. Without that incredible link between SF and the East Bay in the only major metropolitan area with a great big body of water in its middle, the Bay Area would literally collapse.

The large suspension bridge, Liberty Bridge, over the waterfall in downtown Greenville SC is starting to become well known. It has only been there since 2006.
