A few of my Colorado pictures just to show that there really is no easy answer to this question.

Wow, I cannot imagine a more extreme move when it comes to culture, weather, look and feel. Maybe Alaska to Hawaii.

That was part of the reason why I moved to New Mexico from Massachusetts. I was seeking out a totally different world (and climate) from the one I had know before, and I got just that to a certain degree. Ideally I'd like to stay in the West, and would seriously consider moving to Arizona, but aging parents and family has me being called back to New England. I'm sure I'll adapt to Vermont better than if I was moving back to Mass. It's still got mountains and it would be difficult for me to adapt to living in a landscape without mountains. Albeit not AZ or CO magnitude of mountains, but nice ones nonetheless. Though Sky Dog's beautiful mountain and canyon photos from Colorado have me second guessing, lol.

Vermont certainly isn't as dramatic, but its mountains are lush, and there's a lot of water. I miss Colorado sometimes, but I think I'd miss Vermont fiercely if I moved away.

Some pics from my wanderings just this year:

Not Vermont but in the Champlain Valley, NY side:

I've lived in Arizona (Tucson) for 7 years and been throughout both AZ and CO and think both states are beautiful and unique in their own way. I like to joke, if Arizona and Colorado had a kid, it would be called Utah!

Utah has aspects of both Colorado and Arizona.
Utah is the true shining star, IMO.

Arizona and Colorado are striking, but Vermont is pretty.

I'm a huge National Park Service geek/nerd and southern Utah is my favorite place in the entire US, it's like one giant playground, and northern Utah isn't too shabby either!
