Just to add, besides being very close to Lake Ontario, which has multiple beaches in the area, you also have this state park to the south only minutes away: https://parks.ny.gov/parks/79/details.aspx
You also have some of the Finger Lakes in the area, which has a big wine scene(if interested) and there is the Erie Canal as well. So, you have quite a few outdoor amenities nearby as well.
