Since I'm impressed by metro's new thread about medium-sized Midwestern cities, I thought it would be nice to do a similar poll for Northeastern cities that are often overshadowed by the BosWash Corridor. What is your favorite medium-sized Northeastern U.S. city?
Well what's your definition of mid sized? like 100,000-200,000? 50,000-100? something like that?
Generally speaking I included cities in the 40,000-200,000 range. You'll see that I included Rochester, NY, for example, but omitted Pittsburgh and Buffalo, both of which have around 300,000 residents. Also, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything, but I consider Maryland and Delaware to be solidly "Mid-Atlantic," so I didn't include their cities here. 74 options is enough! LOL!
I really need to visit Scranton. I can't believe I've been to Wilkes-Barre three times but I've never gone that extra (how many miles?) to Scranton.
Scranton is about 18 miles north of Wilkes-Barre. It's not a whole lot different from Harrisburg, other than the fact that our crime rate is lower and that our people whine more than yours do.
