Hello everybody
I posted a thread mentioning the possibility of Florida but I think i have eliminated that state due to Dorian.I recently got back from a trip to New Mexico.I have always liked the Land of Enchantment.I am also considering Abilene,San Angelo,Lubbock, and Waco in the Lone Star State.I currently live in Midland, Texas which is in the Energy Basin and I am ready for a change of scenery within the next 5 years or so.My folks like Abilene,San Angelo,Lubbock and Waco because it would closer to them in case I need them for whatever reason.Jobs wont be an issue.I am considering Albuquerque and Las Cruces in America's Land of Enchantment.

I would ideally want to move to New Mexico after I get married but I would talk to my future wife about it.I am single.I think dating would be better in Abilene,Lubbock and Waco than New Mexico.Dont know how dating would be in San Angelo.I hope I would be able to handle the winters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.I know I would be able to handle them in Las Cruces.I just like ABQ because it has more amenities.I dont know what my budget would be.Ive been to ABQ a couple times but I need to visit Las Cruces....I have only passed through.I have always wanted to live in New Mexico but idk if its feasible or practical.

I am a Christian and I feel good about being able to find a church wherever I move to.I previously wanted to live in Roswell but I figured it was too similar to Midland/Odessa,Texas.I would like to live in a middle class to lower middle class to working class neighborhood that is safe because I am frugal.I dont want to live in a upper middle class subdivision-type development because I dont want to subject myself to lifestyle creep.I may live in all the Texas towns at least if i have enough time.So do you guys have any input or info that you would like to share about the choices I am facing? Thanks in advance.

So is the premise you having more of a lean towards moving to New Mexico versus the other three cities in Texas that you mentioned? I think based on the size of those cities and how you frame where you'd want to be Las Cruces may be a better fit than Albuquerque. I like Las Cruces a lot. It has the most scenic desert mountain range in the state on the edge of town, the Organs a re a stunning range tp look at during sunsets. It's quintessentially New Mexico but with more of a borderlands vibe, has a bit of the old world NM character in neighboring Mesilla, and there is a good amount of agriculture in the area. White Sands is nearby which is pretty fantastic. It would definitely be a change from where your at but also close to Texas if you ever need to get back there and you can make use of nearby ELP airport if needed.

I, personally, would probably choose Corpus Christi over any of the cities you named. Maybe, New Braunfels, if you don’t want to be that close to the gulf coast.

well.I would ideally want to move to whatever city in New Mexico for a year and then come back to Texas. Its between the three Texas cities of Abilene,San Angelo, and Lubbock and New Mexico.I know I eventually want to wind up in Waco/Greater Austin and Central Texas area if i decide to settle in Texas.I went to ABQ recently and i wasnt as impressed with it.
