Cities that are similar to Bellevue, WA in these ways:

-Close proximity to a major city
-Comprised of upscale housing (suburban feel)
-Comprised of significant business/enterprise
-Polished in feel

I was thinking maybe Buckhead in the ATL area.

Other ideas?

Buckhead is actually within the city of Atlanta, so that wouldn't qualify by definition if asking about separate cities or entities. One example that comes to mind is Tysons Corner in VA, which has a Buckhead feel and is in close proximity to Washington DC.

I think Buckhead still feels like Bellevue in a sense that the neighborhoods are suburban and woodsy but the cores have their own trademark skyline. Downtown Bellevue and Buckhead also both feel very corporate and they are both the same distance out from the downtowns of Seattle and Atlanta. Both are also destinations for high end retails and malls. Buckhead has MARTA and Bellevue will soon have a light rail subway station in downtown with a grade separated and free flowing ROW light rail into downtown Seattle. City limits are more or less blurred in this comparison.

It's grown in a more urban way than nearly all of the others for the last 32 years or so -- parking generally below-grade and in less quantity, buildings right to the street, etc.

It has lots of flaws of course...overly wide streets, no automatic pedestrian signals, etc.

Some of those places are more old-time suburbia than anything like central Bellevue. Buckhead is the closest.

Here's a start for more accurate comparisons: https://www.google.com/maps/@47.6038.../data=!3m1!1e3
