Thanks for your advice

I would try to make it up to Atlanta and stay there. Atlanta is about 9 hours from Naples, FL, and if you are looking for somewhere to stop and do something, Atlanta is your best bet.

But if you are just wanting a good "middle point" to stay at a hotel, rest and get back on the road, Valdosta, GA is about 6 hours away, while Macon is about 7ish.

I think it depends if you are looking to turn the middle, stop off point into a vacation-y stay as well. If that is the case, Atlanta is a good bet. If you are willing to hang in there and drive another 1 1/2 hours north, stay over in Chattanooga and visit Rock City/Ruby Falls or the Tennessee Aquarium/downtown Chattanooga.

You guys going to Dollywood? I'll be headed there next weekend myself. It's so nicely festive this time of year there.

We stopped and stayed in Valdosta and it worked great! On the way home, we drove straight through and I actually preferred that because it was just faster and I'd rather get the long drive over with.

It was BEAUTIFUL there!! Enjoy your trip
