It doesn't matter what you call yourself. You're a southerner.
Plus, how do you know what other people if you aren't there around everybody all the time??
Nah and again no thanks... plenty of DC residents on here have already noted that they dont identify as Southerners and over the years that we've had this discussion not one has agreed with you. Why dont you stick to the Baltimoreans being a southern thing and let DC folks decide for DC.

Geographically and history already decided for DC. Since DC is south of Baltimore, then you don't have an argument.
Is there something unusual about that? I'd expect people from any region to be more assertive about features and characteristics of their region than those who aren't from that region. And it's obvious this particular subject (states that constitute the mid-Atlantic region) isn't exactly a completely settled matter.
Well said, thanks Mutiny. Perhaps I am a bit more invested in the topic than what's considered normal, but that's only because it's a subject that I care about and want to discuss.
Gotdamn I'm bored with this topic. Here's to another 12 times debating this in 2019!
No one's forcing you to respond, let alone care at all. If you are so bothered by it, maybe find something else to do with your time? Or another topic?
So, do you believe that VA is southern? If so, is it whole state or NOVA ,or what?
The lines straddles somewhere in VA... I notice traceable differences once I pass Woodbridge and definitely think I'm in the South once I hit Lynchburg/Roanoke/Petersburg...

And that's why this message board exists. You don't have to explain yourself at all.
