Climate change: You need access to food, drinking water, an energy source, and it can't flood. If you assume the climate change is a rapid warming, you want to be north. I'd say anything on the Great Lakes will do OK. Revival of the rust belt. I'll pick Buffalo since Niagra Falls hydro is a superb energy source. ...but the Bills still won't win a Super Bowl.

Economic collapse a la Greece: Low skill, repetitive task people get crushed since their labor is almost worthless. You need a place with the highest skill workforce. San Francisco. Boston.
SF has the highest skill workforce? LOL. What SF have you been to....ohhhhh. You just read that on constant online articles ;P.

This whole idea that SF is like this dream work place is hilarious. The true talent workforce is in LA or Denver or NYC...but again, America is fixated on perceptions perpetuated by mainstream narratives.

The tougher, stronger, more diverse, and self-sufficient cities. Texas has some good models. It used to be its own republic, and has never lost those roots. It's quitely continued on, deep in the "fabric" and mindset of that land.

Chicago sounds better for both scenarios as it is, and is increasingly becoming more of a city of higher skilled/higher paid workers, and it's also right there on Lake Michigan. Milwaukee, Detroit, and Cleveland to a lesser extend are also good. Not to mention smaller and less hectic cities like Grand Rapids and Toledo.

Everyone will move to cities to the west like Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. We will combine all the states and call it California. The capital being Los Angeles because sadly the sea level rise will put current downtowns of SF and Seattle underwater While Downtown LA is about 250 feet above sea level now. Downtown LA will be near waterfront soon enough. Florida will no longer be around since it will be underwater and their freshwater supply will be tainted with salt water and cant support the huge population that remains.
If the Yellowstone eruption happens (on a huge scale), we're all either screwed or dead. Starvation will happen all across the globe if you do happen to survive, mostly pretty much anywhere north of the Equator. Even south of the equator though, the financial terror and shortage of many things will not be pretty whatsoever. There's a good chance you die there too.

Pure anarchy would break out the second the USGS or any other credible organization declares Yellowstone a threat. Looting, murdering, rioting, you name it, will happen ALL around the globe, but especially in all corners of North America. All interstates would be clogged up with everyone fleeing to the far south and southeast U.S. in full on panic mode.

We're just about equally likely to be hit by an asteroid, and if that's the case, not a soul on this planet survives. If you seriously think this is going to happen in our lifetime, then you need to go occupy your time better.

The answer of this question depends on why and how the US collapse happens. Currently I would say civil war is the biggest threat to the US continuing to exist as a nation. Who won this war, what part of the nation saw the most fighting and whether or not WMDs were used would determine what part of America would rebound and thrive. Personally I believe the conservative Res States holds a massive advantage in any conflict and those places would come back the quickest. Civil war is a significant threat to our national future considering how divided we are. If this happens it will not likely be in the distant future as some suggest but in a relatively near future.

A natural disaster that could end the nation? Yellowstone does seem to be the only thing naturally that has the potential to do this. Several states would have all life extinguished from them like Wyoming and Montana for example. All points east of there would face catastrophic ash falls, even as far out as the Atlantic seaboard ash would be a problem. The government of the US would likely collapse or relocate to California where the vest hope of survival would be. This is a true nightmare scenario, true worldwide catastrophe with North America taking the obvious brunt of it. Thankfully the odds of this event occurring on that scale is slim, only once every 700k years does this happen. Needless to say if it happened our future as a nation is a tiny issue compared to the big one which will be survival.

There are other natural disasters out there that could seriously damage the nation but not put an end to it. The collapse of the island of La Palma could create a tilde wave the would destroy the east coast, New Madrid could level huge parts of the lower Midwest and upper South. Rising sea levels could cause massive damage to coastal cities. These events however would not likely end our nation, we would likely band closer together to repair the damage if anything.

Civil war is IMO the nations most likely to happen threat to its existence. The end of the United States however does not mean the end of good times for America. Maybe several smaller nations could also do well, maybe we all would be happier separate and living with smaller more accountable governments that respect the local values. All nations have lifespans and that includes the USA. Life in North America will go on after the time of the USA.

not after Justin builds that far more necessary and fiscally responsible wall along its southern border.
