What about cities like Houston that are experiencing rapid urban sprawl?
Houston now is actually Galveston to Conroe and Baytown to Katy. Over 100,000 sq miles!

That's nowhere near 100,000 sq miles. Maybe 10,000.

opps, added too many zeros!
But the newest loop around the city of Houston is over 180 miles. It will take someone three hours just to circle part of the city.

Seattle (city of) grew faster than DC in resident from 2010-2018, and the I'd assume it continues to. I'd guess it's been adding offices at a faster rate too. Plus it's been building a rail system almost from scratch. DC would be a decent second but not challenge Seattle for first.
