Many small towns seem to decay nowadays. Just looking sor some that have charm and maybe even pride.

Assuming warmer winter* weather? Anything north of the middle of the southern states is out of the loop IMO. An imaginary line going from Savannah ,GA across the USA to LA. Above that is cold in the winter.

I guess it depends on what you call warmer, and what you consider small. And do you mean to visit, or to live?

Definitely "warmer" than most places, which is a drawback in the summer, tbh, but can be quite nice in the other seasons, although they are shorter than I would like.
