I would choose Utah. The scenery is absolutely stunning.

I watched the eclipse two years ago in Harrison, Nebraska. That is a pretty part of the state.

Coming from California, I would choose... Hawaii, specifically Honolulu. Ok, so they don't share a land border, but there is nothing between them in the Pacific.

Of the land border states, I'd probably choose Oregon for Portland, but I think the weather would be depressing. I don't think I could tolerate the summer heat in Las Vegas or Phoenix, and I like living in large cities, so Portland would pretty much be my only option

I live in NC and have some great choices (SC, TN, VA, and GA). Depending on the specific location, I could live in any one of them. But generally speaking, I'd choose VA. Very similar to NC in a lot of ways. Very beautiful state with great people.

Can't believe I'm saying this but Illinois. Ohio and Michigan have a local/school district income tax and Kentucky is allergy central on top of those 2 things. Plus I kinda miss having decent mass transit. Heck the "big" cities in Illinois not named Chicago have better transit than where I'm at.

Minnesota for the same reason you pick New Mexico. I do like South Dakota too though.

Indiana borders IL, MI, OH, KY. I'd choose Ohio.

I live in California. Since I previously lived in Arizona and disliked living there, I would probably select Oregon, if I was forced to move to a neighboring state. Nevada is a ****hole.
