Hartford should get an NHL team again. Although the probability is unfortunately low most likely.

I've always said that Norfolk, VA area needs a team badly. Virginia as a whole does not have a Virginia-specific team (outside of the DC metro) and they could easily support a team. I think that is the top region in the country needing a team--long, long overdue.

Plus, considering Virginia's population is 8.4 million +, it is the most populous state without a team. Although I realize the metro DC teams do tend to "count" for Virginia, but still, the Norfolk or Richmond areas could easily support 1-2 pro teams.

They need to demo the civic center and build a brand new state of the art arena there, instead of continuing to renovating it. Of course, that is easier said than done, while Connecticut might be considered a "rich state" or at least above average when it comes to wealth, finding $500+ million to build a new arena is another thing.

Hartford is in the unfortunate position of being halfway in-between Boston and NY. Hard niche to fill without deep pockets.

It was a hard niche to fill without a proper arena or Luxury Suite Revenue.

CSNNE launched in 1998 to carry Celtics games right after the Whalers left.

So they would have gotten a great TV deal the only problem was NC was willing to build them a new Arena and CT said pay for it yourself

Did they renovate at all when UConn moved to Hockey East?
