If a City has at least One Mall with Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabana, Fendi, and Gucci etc
Multiple Mercedes or Cadillac Dealerships
A BENTLEY Dealership
A MASARATI Dealership
A PORSCHE car dealership
One of My Personal Favorites a RAINFOREST CAFE in your city
A Ritz Carlton Hotel says something about a City
Waldorf Astoria Hotel
A Hard Rock Hotel
A Trump Tower (lol I know that's divisive but your city is huge if you have one)
Well that's my list a City has "Made it" or Arrived if it has at least some of these
There is a Maserati/Porsche/Ferrari Dealership here in Greensboro..... We had a Lamborghini Dealership a few years ago but they moved to Charlotte. There is a Bentley dealership 20 minutes away in High Point. I bet 90% of this forum has never heard of High Point... probably 50% have never heard of Greensboro
Didn't realize Apple Stores were rare in some parts of the country. In SoCal, there's one in just about every mall I've been to. In Glendale there is one at the Glendale Galleria and another at Americana at Brand. Google maps say the stores are about 1000 feet apart walking.
Same in the Twin Cities area. We have several Apple stores all over the metro. I had no idea they were so sought-after by smaller cities.
Apple has a good footprint in the US, but a lot of metro areas that are good size do not have one yet.
For example, here in Tennessee, Chattanooga (metro 575k) does not have an Apple store yet, and neither does Clarksville (metro 285k).
Harrisburg, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and York are three other medium-sized metropolitan areas that also lack an Apple Store, and these are just in Pennsylvania alone. They have 2017 estimated metropolitan populations of 571,903, 555,426, and 446,078, respectively.
I grew up in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and we had to drive over an hour to an Apple Store in the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton MSA.
Location: Miami (prev. NY, Atlanta, SF, OC and San Diego)

Are we talking exclusive or popular?....if exclusive:
If a city has a St Regis, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton—including residences within these esteemed brands—let alone multiple representation.
If a city has and can sustain stand alone boutiques/store fronts—not a limited selection in a mega city chain department store—of high end brands such as Kiton, Brioni, Berluti, Richard Mille, etc.
If it has a flagship Thomas Keller or Jean-Georges restaurant—not a franchised Wolfgang Puck Cafe Express.
Obviously, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls, Lamborghini and McLaren dealerships. I would add Riva, Bertram, San Lorenzo, Heesen, Lurssen, etc yacht dealerships but that would limit and rule out cities not on the coast.
All of the above are renowned brands in select, limited US locations.

I had no clue their footprint was so limited.. basically NYC, Boston, DC, Chicago, Seattle, Cali, Hawaii.
