Looking for a Region with a Strong Economy
I'm looking to move from Western Pennsylvania with its abysmal job market and current unemployment rate of 5.7 percent.
Where in the U.S. is a strong job market with wages in line with what it costs to live there?
Thank you in advance for your response.

The best growth right now is in the four major Texas metros (Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio) and Atlanta.

Birmingham has the country's lowest unemployment. Actually the entire South is pretty much that way.

Minnesota and the upper midwest is in a recession-well before the national recession. Unemployment is creeping up to 5%, but the Minneapolis job market still appears to have strength and Northeastern Minnesota is going to boom with 10-20 major projects centered on iron ore mining, nonferrous mining, and steel making. Always aboom and bust cycle however.
