It was a fashion show put on by local designers in Oakland.

Sorta off topic,
but Oakland, on top of historically having thousands of wealthy professionals in the hills, has lately really become a mecca for edgier hipsters-interesting to see them change the landscape of many once depressed areas. Crime persists of course, but Oakland is not what most people think.

okay, not sure why you are telling me this. Growing up near Oakland i know what the city is like and where the nice parts are, as do you judging by your screen name.

Despite SF always claiming to be so socially progressive and "ahead of the curve" they fall behind many other large cities in certain quality of life rankings. Despite all the high taxes, social programs, activism, ect.... the Bay Area is not much better off overall than many other parts of this country. You still got crime, poverty, traffic, pollution, ect...to deal with like everyone else.

Good point! Many of the "rude, obnoxious" New Yorkers people complain about aren't actually natives of the place. Same deal with Miami.
