This is location independent:

Everyone thinks they have uniquely bad drivers.
Everyone complains about people with temp tags or expired registration in their city.
Everyone thinks they have bad traffic.
Everyone thinks their weather is extreme and share stupid memes about having four seasons in a day/week.

I’ve never really heard of Nashville being world class. A really great city to live, work, and vacation, yes. Friendly people and cool neighborhoods, yes. World class, no.

What you've heard is accurate.

But there are people, including some here on CD, who truly believe Nashville IS world class and will say so. With no hint of irony. I've even read posts here comparing Nashville with NYC or San Francisco.

Absolutely absurd.

I've been in Portland for about a month now and I find that Portland's problems (violent protests, homeless people everywhere, boarded up businesses) are way overblown. The people that say it's a filthy war zone seem to take their impressions of the 1 square mile area that is downtown and extrapolate that to the entire 133 square mile land area that makes up the city. A large part of the city is fairly clean and well kept and full of vibrant walkable streets.
