I need an idea..of where to go.
Of where to go.
I have about a year and a half until I am 18 an I am starting to save up money for my next chapter in life. The only thing is I don't know where to start. I need to find somewhere affordable and has a good availability of jobs to those with out a degree.
No college for me.
Maybe in the future but I feel going straight from highschool to college would burn me out.
I am basically looking for any kind of job so a city with an variety of stuff would be great.
My price range... hmm.. $550-800 a month.. I am an apartment person.
I hate extreme humidity! I also don't like snow.. I lived in Alaska for a numerous amount of years and it was horrid.
I would like somewhere with 400,000+ people.

Well that's kind of broad. A few questions:
1) Are you going to College? What for?
2) what kind of job are you looking for?
3) what's your price range?
4) what kind of weather can/will you handle?
5) what size of city?
Answering those would help.

I think it'll be hard to find low humidity and no snow for $550-$800/month.

I would think anywhere on the East Coast has potential for hurricanes.
But some places more than others. I wouldn't be too worried in NC.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Milwaukee sounds like it might fit you, there the total city population is above 400,000. Spring - Fall is warm. Winter can be cold and snowy but Not half as bad as Alaska and it only lasts about 3 months.
Portland, Oregon
Population is over 500,000, winters are cold but Spring tends to start early there. Plenty of Jobs around. Probably not to much different then Seattle though.
Tuscon, Arizona
Dry Desert enviornment so humidity should be low, I doubt it gets much snow.
Good luck

The problem with Charlotte and Raleigh is extreme humidity (the reason i did not recommend Houston!) I would suggest Louisville or maybe Albuquerque for the criteria listed.

Charlotte is well inland, so not much hurricane risk. Humidity? I guess it depends on what you consider "extreme." It's not like Florida, but it's still kind of humid.
I'd suggest Denver as a possibility. Depends on how much you want to avoid winter, but at least winter in Denver is sunny more than in the Northeast and Midwest, with some mild spells mixed in with the cold. Unless a lot of gray weather would get you down, you might also think about Seattle. Much milder winters than you might expect for a city that far north. If you can handle the gray weather, the main problem in Seattle would be cost of living, but it's a city at least worth thinking about.
