There was an earlier thread looking at the most 24 hour cities in the country - now I'd like to know what you think the most 24 hour states are in the country. For example, if I'm driving around late at night/early in the morning, where am I most likely to find an open bar and/or restaurant and/or stores and/or people driving or walking around and/or people working etc.
I'd say the portions of NY, particularly around the Buffalo and Albany areas due to their later Last call(4 am), along with some restaurants/stores being open.

I guess I don't quite understand what this thread is going for.
Places are only open 24 hours in locations where the density of residents and workers is high enough that there will inevitably be sufficient demand for commercial amenities at odd hours. You won't find this outside of urban parts of a state (or in essence, cities).
Even with truck stops, these are places individuals usually stop on the way to their destination to take a quick rest. They're not going to party, shop, aimlessly strolling around, meet new friends, etc.
Twenty years ago, there were hardly any 24-hour gasoline stations in New England due to a generally older population and very little truck traffic. Due to its location, New England is a destination, not a cut-through, and most national franchises have limited or no presence there, so there is relatively little interstate commercial activity that occurs in most New England states. As a result, there was not much need for 24-hour gasoline stations. I acknowledge that things may have changed since I last lived there.

You catch my drift?
Every Waffle House and Denny's is open 24 hours. Now when even Walmart and Planet Fitness aren't open all night anymore due to the Corona Virus, Waffle House still is. In Louisiana there's a Waffle House at nearly every exit. And yes, before the Corona Virus, Walmarts were open 24 hours so the places that aren't too good to support Walmart.....
Nevada is also worth mentioning because of the casinos not just in Las Vegas but elsewhere in the state. Also Florida both because of Waffle House and Walmart, but because its a major tourist area so there's a lot of 24 hour services.
West Virginia is probably the least 24 hour state. In Charleston there was an IHOP that was 24 hours on the weekends only. There is a casino near Charleston WV too and their food places don't stay open all night. There's not a single sit down restaurant that's 24 hours all week.
Georgia has the most Waffle Houses, followed by Florida and NC. So I’d probably start there.
This.
Georgia and the American South.

Wal-Mart
