In emotional health Gallup places Hawaii, North Dakota, Alaska, Iowa, and Minnesota in the top 5. Hawaii, Iowa, and Minnesota were also in their top-5 for general well-being. Finally Iowa was in their top 5 for Economic Confidence.

State of the States

Among cities they didn't have a ranking list on emotional health, which is unfortunate as that's the one that relates to happiness. Still they listed the top large metro on emotional health and that was Minneapolis-St. Paul. The top metropolitan area for overall well-being was Boulder, Colorado with Holland-Grand Haven, Michigan second and San Jose tops among the 52 largest metros. Honolulu, Hawaii and Provo-Orem, Utah were also high in well-being. They listed Cedar Rapids as the highest city in Iowa for well-being.

Among Large Cities, San Jose and D.C. Lead in Wellbeing
