I would like to find a city to live in that really goes all out in decorating and celebrating christmas and also has at least 2 good snows a year. Where i live now we just had our first snowfall that amounted to anything in 6 yrs.

Downtown Hartford's Festival of Lights is quite an event that starts over Thanksgiving weekend. And you'll get an ample amount of snow in Connecticut.

I was about to recommend San Diego (they have this nifty boat parade, where they deck out all the harbor ships in Christmas lights and sail them around), but then I saw your snow requirement...

Nevermind, I guess.

What about Chicago? The closest major metropolitan area to Kentucky that is known for its snow.

Riverside, California ? Good Morning America did a story on the Mission Inn (and distrct- A Dickens theme) Who wants to live in the snow when it's only 45 mins. away in Lake Arrowhead. Actually, live in Arrowhead- visit Riverside. Type in Riverside and Christmas on a search engine for pictures. C-D may even have some posted.

Perhaps try the midwest as far as weather.

Major cities (I would assume) would have some kind of light show or parade.
