For the hip hop scenes in the Northeast:
NJ/NYC and Boston have that uk drill influence while Philly is Detroit/Chicago influenced, Baltimore is a mix of Philly and ATL. DMV does their own thing.

But honestly? Boston makes 1000 types of very different sounds. There is no one sound people chase, its a fragmented city where tons of people run in small circles and really dont know people or other rappers in the city..
Lotta Boston rappers want to sound like they're from ATL. This dude from Cambridge sounds 100% ATL. Top comments are 'this does not sound like Boston" and "Where he from Baustin, Texas?"

Mulah Mitch's track the best IMO , sounds like something Griselda would drop.
I've been listening to BIA on the low, she's much better than Coi or the girls you posted. ii
I refuse to listen to a brother from Cambridge rap about trapping, escaping the feds, and "shooting at opps". This would not be tolerated back in the 90's and early 00's. Rap has became so mainstream and commercialized that you got suburban kids believing they're the next Wayne Perry.

lol they definitely do trap in Cambridge bruv. Especially back in the 90s and early 2000s. We don't consider Cambridge a suburb like that. it's not gritty but it has players for sure. Mostly in the Coast and Portside. The rent control era of Cambridge was a[b]very [/Bdifferent Cambridge. They still have one mega-high rise housing project and some others they've got a few MS-13 and one or two of their own little gangs like MP-45. But overall a very safe and pleasant city. For sure. And much more so since 2010 especially. People really like Cambridge and theyve got a lot of culture. It's not dangerous at all but generally if someone from Cambridge says they are shooting at opps I'm not gonna question it. They don't feel a need to like be cool or be Boston even. They're really just them and some of them do 'shoot at opps', alwys have, i can confirm.
Again its not tough but the young black and latino men in Cambridge are FARfrom suburban. They mostly work with a Manhattan-esque Roxbury/Harlem.South End type energy. lotta rappers (not really good IMO, you dont have to listen- im just showing you...)

There are others, but those are some that come to mind.
