Would the cities/towns be alot safer?
Would the cities/towns be alot safer if they could make the jails bigger and that they won't let the jails be overcrowded?
I sometimes feel that a good way to lower the crime rate is to make the jails bigger and prevent them from being overcrowded.

No...I think more executions is the answer. All pedophiles and drug dealers should be executed.

I think our cities would be a lot safer if we addressed our poverty problem.
Every American does NOT have equal oppertunity. While throwing money at the poor is not the answer, adjustments could be made and programs could be put in place that would gradually provide more jobs and improve impoverished populations.
Prisons are like universities for criminals. They come out far more dangerous than when they first went in.

As for me I think the pedophiles should get sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison before they are eligible for parole.
As for the drug dealers I do feel the small time dealers should get some jail time but the major dealers should get sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison before they are eligible for parole.
I personally think executions are way too harsh and I feel it would be alot worse for them to serve many decades in prison rather than get executed within a few years after their sentencing, that is just my opinion.

I would definitely agree with you that our cities would be alot safer if they could address our poverty problem and you sure couldn't find a better way of explaining what could be done to help our country be a safer place to live in.

I'm sorry but that is really some backwards thinking there. Putting more people in jail doesn't make us safer, which should be pretty obvious considering how many people we currently have in prison.
The best way to lower crime in the LONG RUN is through increasing education and reducing poverty. It's a lot CHEAPER to prevent crime than it is to maintain it. The US has a fairly backwards mentality when it comes to crime; to deal with it after the fact.

Why would you think that a pedophile should get parole? They can't be reformed...they will always have those urges. I think they're the scum of the earth and should be hung from the nearest tree. Would you want one living next door to you?
At least drug dealers can be reformed. I did say that drug dealers should be executed because drugs seem to be at the core of most crime these days. By putting a life sentence onto a drug dealing conviction, it would discourage the selling of illegal drugs. At the same time, I would not penalize drug users, only mandate that they go into rehab.

I would not want a pedophole living next door to me at all, I'm not sure why I feel that a pedophile should be released on parole, I always thought they could be reformed.
I definitely do agree with you that the drugs seem to be at the core of most of the crime we have these days, I do feel that the drug users should go to rehab and try to get themselves off of them drugs and to get their lives together, I do feel that keeping the big time drug dealers off the streets and them in prison for a very long time would help fight crime, as for the small time dealers I do feel that they should get some slack like getting some jail time and try to get help by putting an end to selling drugs and getting their lives together.

most drug dealers don't do many of the drugs they sell, especially the harder ones. And if they do they aren't addicts or abusers and do not need rehab at all. Many are pretty good business people and wouldn't be so if they were strung out. Many drug dealers can lead pretty normal lives except for how they make their money. It's about supply and demand and they are just meeting demand.
