West of the MS river? You mean east?
I think he/she means west. I mean, Louisiana and Arkansas lie West of the Mississippi and so does East Texas and sometimes Oklahoma is considered too. The Census calls these states "West South Central."
Yes West South Central would be where La and Ark are located but that never seems to be a choice anymore. Either it's southwest(huh?) or southeast. Like we have just been scooped up in one or the other. I don't think we are like either of those but nobody will believe it. Just plan old south is what the geographers should call it.
What is Sacramento, and northern California in general. IMO, it is more northwestern than Southwestern. There should have been a west coast category, and mountain west category.

We're geographically in Southeast Texas, more or less, although I think of Beaumont and over that way as the real Southeast Texas. Or should I say Deep Southeast Texas?
